The contractor is moving right along on the McMansion being built next door.  The foundation walls were poured last week, the forms were taken down last Friday and today they are waterproofng the basement walls.

And there is a big plie of gravel sitting out front..  I expect this wil be used when they do the basement floor.

The House Next Door

The house next doorThe house next door is no more!  Our neighbors are doing a bit of “suburban renewal.” This is what the house next door looked like a few days ago.
The house next doorThe first blow!
No house next doorHalfway there!
The house next doorThe chimney is no more!
The house next doorThe coup de grace!
The house next doorAnd now the house is gone!  It took less than an hour to completely demolish the house.  The next day, it took about six hours and a number of 18-wheeler truckloads to haul away the debris and trees that were cut down.
No house next doorThis is what the property looks like now.  Ready for the new construction to begin.

Bees

This past Sunday, went to the Washington Redskiins/ San Francisco 49ers football game, which the Redskins won by the ridiculous score of 52 – 17.  Our seats at Fedex Field are in the Upper Level, Row 23.  Not quite high enough to require oxygen masks but pretty close.

And, of all things, I got stung in the finger by a Bee!  And now my whole right hand is swelled up as a result!  Guess it wil go away in a couple more days (I hope).

The Dogs

The DogsOne of the dogs (Gunston on the right in the pictue) has a serious illness called “Pemphigus.”   For a while, it looked like he was on the way out, but he is now recovering.   He’s not quite back to normal yet, but hopefully as he gains the weight he lost and the medication keeps working, his health will continue to improve!

Monday Night Football

Well, the Redskins surprised everyone, including me, and beat the Cowboys 14-13 on Monday night football. I missed it all as I turned off the TV and went to bed with the Redskins losing 13-0 late in the 4th quarter.
