Sydney and Farnborough

Down under and up over…

Lets see…been to Sydney, Australia and Farnborough, UK in the last month or so. Nothing much new since I’ve been to both places before. Sydney is busy getting ready for the Summer Olympics next year, so there’s lots of construction going on all over town.

Austin

Home of Dell and the ‘Horns…

Its too hot here to spend much time working outdoors, so here’s an entry for today. Going to Austin, TX tommorrow for a week. Been there before a number of times, so guess it falls in the “Been There, Done That!” category.

Billy Bob’s

Been there, done that…

On the road again! I’m sititing in a hotel room in Ft. Worth, TX with nothing much else to do so I might as well do this. The weather here is cool and the wind is blowing so I guess Spring has not yet sprung. Maybe tomorrow night I’ll go find the famous “Billy Bob’s Texas,” the worlds largest Honky-Tonk. It has to be, of course, since everything is bigger in Texas!

Birthday Boys

Me and the grandkid…

It snowed here earlier in the week — ended up with 11+ inches on the ground. And, GMU won the CAA Championship and went to the NCAA tournament. But, as expected, they were blown away in the first round today by Cincinatti. And today is also the GrandKid’s and my birthdays. Hope we both get a lot of presents!

Go Patriots

The old alma mater…

The ISDN is history…the link light went red on Friday, so I guess the “five working days” have passed. The ADSL is still working fine, but the HomeNet broke yesterday — one of my $19.95 special network interface cards died! After procuring a new card (had to spring for $29.95 this time!), the HomeNet is alive and well again.

That’s pretty much it for February 1999. Almost 7:00 PM — time to watch GMU and ODU play for the CAA Basketball Championship Game. Go Patriots!
