The shell of the house next door is just about complete now.

Looks like all that remains to be done is to finish the trim, install the garage doors, outside electrical work and other finishing touches.

All of the interior framing is done, electrical and plumbing rough-in is complete, the insulation has been installed and they finshed hanging the wall board yesterday.

The picture of the interior was taken last week, prior to hanging the wall board.

Here are two pictures of the house next door during application of the vinyl siding.    

Note that there is no barrier wrap (e.g., Dupont Tyvek®, etc.) on the house.  For some reason, the house was not wrapped prior to the siding going up, so it is being applied as the siding is put up.  

The siding on the other side of the house was put up with no barrier wrap under it…and had to be torn down and put up again after applying the wrap.

It took about two days to put all the siding up.

The bricklayers finished last Friday.  They are now in process of putting the vinyl siding on the other three sides of the house.

Bricklayers started on the front of the house next door today.

 

These pictures give some idea about the size of the house next door.  In this picture, you can see my house on the left and a portion of the new house on the right.

And this is a picture of the new house taken from approximately the same spot.  Both pictures were taken on 7 January 2005.

And this is what the new house looks like as of 17 January 2006.

 

Construction on the outside shell of the house next door started on 21 December 2005. This was what the view looked like from my back yard as of 31 December 2005.
