Over three months now on my "bionic" left hip. I finished physical therapy first week in June and had appointment with surgeon today for checkup. As of now all systems are go. If all continues to go well next checkup will be in March 2010 (one year after surgery).
A Day to Remember
Thanks to those of the "Greatest Generation" whose bravery and sacrifices on the Beaches of Normandy on the 6th of June 1944 must never be forgotten.

Today is a milestone in my recovery from my left hip replacement surgery. No more twice a week sessions with the physical therapist. However, I will still need to continue with my daily exercises here at home for the foreseeable future.
Next up is my post-operative visit with the surgeon in a few weeks.
54 Days
It has been almost two months since my left hip replacement surgery.
I just completed my initial round of physical therapy sessions. My major "accomplishments" to date include:
- I can walk without a limp and do not need a cane
- I can tie the shoelaces on my left shoe
- The swelling is gone in my left leg and foot; I can wear all my shoes again
- I’m back on my treadmill doing 30 minutes or more a day
- I can sleep on my left side, right side or back with no discomfort.
Stay tuned for more updates. Next big event is my post-operative visit with the surgeon the last week in June.
38 Days
My new left hip is 38 days old today. I had my second post-op visit with the surgeon today and am now officially off the walker. I’m now a "cane" person. And I can drive again. That is a good thing and it is made even better since I am getting a temporary "Disabled Parking" permit. The permit will be valid through August 2009, so prime parking space for me all Summer in all venues.
